Is the free plan really free forever?

Do I need to install Ollama or pay for an AI API?
Galaxy is the browser agent — you bring the AI. There are three options:
- Ollama (local): Download and install the free Ollama app on your machine, then pull any model you want (e.g.
ollama pull llama3.2). Start it withOLLAMA_ORIGINS=chrome-extension://* ollama serveto allow Galaxy to connect. Everything runs locally — 100% private, no API costs. Requires a capable machine. - Ollama cloud models: Requires Ollama installed locally (v0.6+). Run
ollama signinin a terminal to connect your Ollama account — a browser tab opens to authenticate. Cloud models then run on Ollama's datacenter GPUs while using your local Ollama as the interface. No separate AI subscription needed — free tier included with hourly and weekly usage limits. - OpenRouter: Create a free OpenRouter account, add an API key in Galaxy settings, and access 200+ models including GPT-5.4, Claude, Gemini, and Mistral. Costs vary by model — many capable models are free or very low cost.
Galaxy itself has no AI costs. You only pay for what you use through your chosen provider — or nothing at all if you run Ollama locally.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. Galaxy is a Chrome extension — it works on any device that runs Chrome: Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebooks. Unlike AI browsers like ChatGPT Atlas which are macOS-only, Galaxy works everywhere.
Is my browsing data private?
Galaxy processes everything locally inside your Chrome browser. If you use Ollama, your data literally never leaves your machine. If you use OpenRouter, requests go to whichever AI provider you select. Galaxy itself never collects, stores, or transmits your browsing data.
What does "unlimited tasks" mean on paid plans?
No daily cap at all. Run as many tasks as you need. Each task can itself run for as many steps as required to complete — Galaxy has no artificial step limit and runs until the task is done.
What's included in the $147/year plan?
Exactly the same as the $29/month Unlimited plan — unlimited tasks, all 200+ OpenRouter models, priority support, early feature access. You just save $201/year by paying annually instead of monthly.
Is there a refund policy?
Galaxy offers a permanently free plan with full agent capabilities and 10 tasks per day — no credit card, no time limit. This gives every user the opportunity to fully evaluate the product before making any purchase decision.
