Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Short version: Galaxy is a Chrome extension that runs entirely inside your browser. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your browsing data, task content, or personal information. The AI processing happens through whichever provider you configure โ not through us.
1. Who We Are
Galaxy AI Agent ("Galaxy", "we", "us") is a Chrome browser extension developed and operated as an independent product. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@galaxyagent.click.
2. What Data Galaxy Collects
2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
Galaxy does not collect, transmit to our servers, or store any of the following:
- Your browsing history or visited URLs
- The content of pages you visit
- Tasks you run or prompts you write
- Files you attach to tasks
- Screenshots or page captures
- Your name, email address, or personal details
- Any data scraped or exported by the agent
2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Galaxy uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to save your preferences and session data. This data exists only on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Extension settings (AI backend, model selection)
- Task history and memory notes you create
- To-do items and saved templates
- Your license key status (free / paid tier)
You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.
2.3 License Validation
When you activate a paid license key, the extension sends only your license key to Polar.sh (our payment processor) to verify its validity. No other data is transmitted. Polar's privacy policy applies to this interaction: polar.sh/legal/privacy.
3. AI Providers and Your Data
Galaxy is an interface layer โ it does not provide AI itself. Your task prompts, page content, and file context are sent directly from your browser to whichever AI provider you configure:
- Ollama (local): All processing happens on your machine. Nothing leaves your device. This is the most private option.
- Ollama cloud models: Your prompts are processed by Ollama's hosted infrastructure. Subject to Ollama's privacy policy.
- OpenRouter: Your prompts are routed to the model you select. Subject to OpenRouter's privacy policy and the underlying model provider's terms.
Galaxy does not intercept, log, or store these communications. They go directly from your browser to the provider.
4. Payments
All payments are handled by Polar.sh. Galaxy never sees or stores your payment card details, billing address, or financial information. Polar processes payments securely under their own PCI-compliant infrastructure.
5. Chrome Extension Permissions
Galaxy requests the following Chrome permissions. Every permission is actively used and necessary for the functionality described below:
- activeTab: Required to read and interact with the content of the user's currently active tab during task execution.
- tabs: Required to open new tabs, switch between tabs, and capture screenshots during multi-step task workflows.
- scripting: Required to click elements, type text, scroll, and read page content on websites as instructed by the user.
- sidePanel: Required to display the Galaxy agent interface in Chrome's built-in side panel.
- storage: Required to save settings, AI backend preferences, memory notes, prompt templates, task history, and license status โ stored locally on the user's device only.
- contextMenus: Required to allow users to right-click selected text on any page and send it directly to Galaxy as a task, without opening the side panel manually.
Host permissions (<all_urls>): Required because the agent must work on any website the user navigates to at runtime. The specific URLs accessed are determined by the user's task instructions and cannot be predicted in advance. All page interaction is user-initiated โ no browsing data is sent to external servers.
Host permissions (localhost, 127.0.0.1): Required to communicate with the user's local Ollama installation when Ollama local mode is selected in settings.
Host permissions (openrouter.ai, api.polar.sh): Required for OpenRouter AI model access when the user provides their own API key, and for license key validation via Polar.sh on paid plan activation.
Galaxy does not use these permissions to monitor your browsing or collect data passively. All actions only occur when you explicitly start a task.
6. Third-Party Data Sharing
Galaxy shares data with the following third parties only as described:
- Ollama (cloud mode): Your task prompts and page context are sent to Ollama's hosted infrastructure for AI processing. No data is retained by Galaxy. Subject to Ollama's privacy policy.
- OpenRouter: If you provide an OpenRouter API key, your task prompts and page context are routed to the AI model you select. No data is retained by Galaxy. Subject to OpenRouter's privacy policy and the underlying model provider's terms.
- Polar.sh: When you activate a paid license, your license key is sent to Polar.sh solely to verify its validity. No browsing data, task content, or personal information is transmitted. Subject to Polar.sh's privacy policy.
Galaxy does not share any user data with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics providers. No user data is sold.
7. Limited Use
Galaxy's use of data accessed via Chrome extension permissions is limited to providing the core agent functionality described in this policy and in the Chrome Web Store listing. Data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not directly related to executing tasks at the user's explicit instruction.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Children's Privacy
Galaxy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Galaxy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
